I a m trying to determine the strings that came on my New Hwy 1 P-Bass. I bought it off the rack after it had been on sale for a year or so, they were tapered with black silk, and black silk at the bottom by the ball. I'm thinking they are Fenders. The fender site sys Hwy 1s come with super bass 7250 but I read on the forums here that they take 8250 for non string thru bridges which of course this is. I'd like to get another set of these strings as I like them alot. should I get the 7250s or 8250s Thanks!

actually you have it backwards, 8250 are the strings designed for thru-bridges, they have a taperwoud 110 E-string that wouldn't fit on a normal brigde because of the length of the taper.
The strings on your bass are 7250.
