Hydrographics

I talked to a local gunsmith who does this and he said he didn't see any problem with doing a wood body as he does wood gun stocks all the time. I'm thinking about having a body done in a cammo pattern but so far haven't found one I like well enough. I read that the film and inks for printing will soon be available at the consumer level so hopefully I can get what I want soon.

As for the guards, if they are of the modern plastic type I don't see a problem. Some of the guys I race toy cars with are having their (lexan) body shells hydrodipped and they seem pretty durable in off road r/c car racing.

Some outfit online already sells home kits that you do in the bathtub. Google it. YouTube reviews on it too.
Home kits have been available for some time now, but none in the pattern I'm looking for. Since the film reps the bulk of the total cost, I'd just as soon let someone who's already made the rookie errors do mine for me. It wouldn't take but a couple oh shites! on my part to cover the cost of letting a pro do it right the first time. ;)
