Hyundai basses?

So I spotted this on my local Craig's List today:

I did a quick search here and didn't find anything. I assume it's the same Hyundai that builds cars? Just curious if anyone knows anything about these. I couldn't afford a $100 bass right now even if I wanted to

Wow... I have a Hyundai Genisis. 310 HP, 6 Speed, Rear wheel drive... FAF!!! Hyundai make SHIPS too.... I'd bet they'd make a Hell of a bass!

If its the same company that makes the cars, it must mean the warranty is crap and it'll fall apart in a few years? lol.
The font on the headstock is the same as the car company. I wonder if it too has a torque gauge?

I've got one, it was the first bass I ever played. Mine was a short scale, looks like the neck was shaved and repainted black. Also looks like a crappy paint job over a maple fretboard.

It's nothing spectacular, but it does work pretty well. Sounds good with flatwounds. Never had any problems with the construction or the electronics. A solid little bass. I've never been able to find much out about it though.

Nah, not trolling. I work at a dealership, and Hyundai is one of the makes they have. I just dislike them and was scared to hear they make basses, lol

I havent gotten time to sneak around the forum and check everything out yet I didnt think that was a very good 2nd post, but I couldnt help myself, lol

Well, Yamaha makes motorbikes, musical inistruments, boat motors and archery bows. So, it's not that unusual.
It is curious though.

Well, Yamaha makes motorbikes, musical inistruments, boat motors and archery bows. So, it's not that unusual.
It is curious though.

Note the Yamaha logo is three tuning forks, if that tells you where there loyalties lie.

I really don't think it's the same Hyundai conglomerate that everyone's thinking about. "현대" is just an adjective that basically means "contemporary." Loads of small companies insert it in front of their names to try to sound reputable. (sort of like "Princeton Review," who have no affiliation whatsoever to Princeton University)
