I adore super-produced 80's blues...

I wouldn't call that blues whatsoever though. Sounds like typical 80s guitar pop 
I thought I would be seeing a Robert Cray video, not Robin Trower!
When I saw the thread topic, I immediately thought of this:
Yeah cause grunge had so much more soul in it than overproduced 80's blues, NOT! It's easy to be a sheep and like whatever talk shows tell you the masses should like at the time to fit into the social zeitgeist. At least I have the balls to post songs outside that box unlike a lot of people...At least you got that part right.
Sounds like generic 80's movie music.

Ok I concede... Even though "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica is one of the biggest sellout song of all time apparently "it's awesome man cause it's like Metallica n' stuff". Yeah the hair bands really sold out with the ballads but if Metallica does the exact same thing it's an instant classic, same with GNR with "November Rain". Yeah Winger is so much more pop than that lol. Guess I have to accept I need to be told what to like by the system to fit in.

I didn't like grunge anymore than I like cheesy music that sounds like it was from an episode of Knight Rider. I don't even understand your MJ comment. Blues bands sound like blues bands. There's nothing about this that sounds like a blues band.
Struggling to see what's 'ballsy' about posting generic 80's corporate rock. Please spare me the 'sheep' talk if you're posting some of the most generic music ever made. It's literally like wallpaper.

Nobody's telling you what you can and can't like. Some of us just think you like garbage. And that's okay, many of us do.
Add to that… Delmark, Rounder, Black Top, Varrick, Adelphi, Storyville, Antone’s, Yazoo/Shanachie, Spindletop, etc. Besides the above album, Albert Collins’ career(as well as that of Buddy Guy and Lonnie Mack)was on an upswing, then there was the Kinsey Report, the Nighthawks, James Harman, Roomful of Blues/Duke Robillard/Ronnie Earl, Lucky Peterson, Lil’ Ed, Marcia Ball, Sue Foley, Lou Ann Barton, and on and on. My favorite band of that time period(although I was more of a fan of Charlie Baty’s guitar playing and less of frontman Rick Estrin), was this bunch, the Nightcats…
Eighties technology sounds great with pop music, but anything roots oriented, I'll pass.
