I am a man.

You are LUCKY! We lived for three months in a newspaper-lined septic tank! We used to have to get up every morning, at six o'clock and clean the newspaper, go to work down the mill, fourteen hours a day, week in, week out, for sixpence a week, and when we got home, our dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt!

No your lucky, We didn't have the newspaper lining. Still had to get up at 4:00 every mourning, steal a newspaper to line the septic tank with, go build the mill, twenty-six hours a day, for five pence a week! Walk uphill fifteen miles to school both ways, our teachers all spoke chinese so we didn't learn anything. And then when we got home our dad would take out the staple gun and staple our tongues to the wooden septic tank floor, oh, and dinner, the staples.

I'm sure this is Monty Python, but I can't place it. What's the context?

Right! I had to get up in the morning, at half past at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of freezing cold poison, work twenty-eight hours a day at mill and pay mill-owner to let us work there, and when we got home, our dad would murder us in cold blood and dance about on our graves, singing Hallelujah!

Sorry, above site got alot wrong... :hmm:

And you try and tell the young people of today that ..... they won't believe you.

I believe the sketch was called "the four yorkshiremen". Genius... had me wetting my pants :)

I think he meant more along the lines of "kids" and "mortgage" but to each their own I guess. And what's my day like?

Up at 8am, bum around for a couple of hours drinking coffee and eating various foodstuffs. Usually by 10:30 I'm out the door for school. Get to school and meet for about 10 or 20 minutes with my teachers and talk about lessons and homework, then back home to do some school work. (I'm in the Independant Learning Center) I work M-F, 3-11pm and after that I go home and play bass for a couple hours before I hit the sack around 2 or 3 am. Weekends are spent working extra hours or partying out west at NIU.

Man life is rough. I'm just trying to enjoy my youth as much as possible while it's still around. Gettin old sucks. (Sorry Old Timers :D )
