I know I'll get many answers as well as questions but am looking for input as to which i need to keep,ive tried to damn near give them away but my location doesnt make selling without shipping an easy task,so hit me with your thoughts,sarcasm,opions etc. I can take it.Yes i could keep them all but want to clear up the unused inventory just because.

I’m not sure I’m seeing a problem, unless you are on an island in the middle of the ocean. If you already have an amp, all you need is one cab, and there are plenty that are nowhere near $2,000.

I second this as it happened to me when I was younger over 20 years ago. A local blues/funk legend of a bass player / vocalist gave me my first cabs (GK 115 and Laney 115 cabs). Actually just saw Johnny play a few weekends ago and thanked him for his kindness.

A surplus of cabs means you don't have to haul around as many. Start sprinkling the surrounding area with backlines! Or maybe partner with some people to start a local non-profit rehearsal studio complex in one of those big empty buildings that are sitting around... rehearsal spaces can always use backlines :hyper:

I have a giant bin of really top end pedals in boxes and my wife asked me if I’m ever going to do anything with them.
I play every day unless I’m traveling. Gig sometimes. Just also happen to love gear, even gear I have no intention of using. Just enjoy it. Or sell it. But don’t worry if you choose to unload it. It’s just stuff.

I am curious why you don't gig or play in a band. You obviously love the bass with great passion, and if you're 60 years old I'm sure you have the hours of practice under your belt to make you worthy and capable of being in a band. You will enjoy it so much! You'll also find that the sound and gear you want/need for a live situation are different from what sounds good to you playing alone at home.

Also, I think it's a lot healthier all around to be upfront with your spouse about hobbies and money.

Turned 63 earlier this month, still working. I have 41 guitars , 9 guitar amps, 20 basses , 3 bass amps, countless guitar pedals.

I play alone & occasionally play with friends but none of us gig, just enjoying collecting & playing for our own enjoyment.

I have no intention of selling anything. I have just about everything I need but open to a few more. My daughter can liquidate when I’m gone if she chooses.
