I asked AI to design a bass cab

Best guess is AI could get close/lucky in it's collection of data when "designing" a cab. The difference with a proper engineer is they will have that data, use reason and logic behind their design, and work toward a specific outcome with the cab/speaker choice.

If money is no concern and you are having fun, I see no issue with messing around with AI to design a cab. I wouldn't expect the results to compete favorably with properly educated engineers in nearly all cases, whether that's on sound or value. I still think using a program like speakerboxlite could be useful, and it's free. Maybe take your data from the AI, plug it in there, and see what results you get.

New cabinet prices are absurd, so I am fully on-board with home-built cabs. My personal expectations aren't ever that of achieving what a well-educated person in this field would do, but I also don't need it to. As long as it sounds good for my needs I am happy. That is not to say the expensive cabs aren't worth the money to others, because part of that expense is for the time and knowledge of those like agedhorse who design them, shop costs, etc.
 
My requirements were light, loud and small enough to fit in an airline overhead. I asked for a 6o to 3.5k hz frequency response.

An 8 1/2" deep cab with that height and width is going to be pretty unstable and very likely too constrained on internal volume, IMO. I don't think a high performance 112 made to fit in an overhead bin and work well for a 5 string bass is probably actually realistic but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

A friend of mine is an aspiring commercial cab builder, and has been sending me AI design suggestions regularly for me to shoot down. I've yet to see one I'd want to build, but if enough of you guys keep training the models I expect they will get there in a few years or so. The trick, as always, is knowing the right questions to ask. ;)

My comment is this: AI is a statistical classification and regression analysis tool, not an engineer. It is not capable of doing this kind of work, no matter how convincingly it fluffs you.

The question is, why wouldn’t you borrow/rent a cab &/or amp at your destination? Are you also bringing an instrument? Or is this an exercise in theoretics?
