For my part, the singer I post, is also my partner for over a decade. I don't think it's creepy, nor does She that her apprarance is stimulating and is shared here, after all these are pictures of PUBLIC performances, in the attire that she chose for any given night.
I get that certain comments should not be made! Keep it clean, appreciation is far removed from lecherous.

TB doesn't do "babe" threads. There's plenty of internet outside of TB if that's what you're looking for:

"Hot" and "babe" (in "singerbabe") in the thread title are meant to be light-hearted and a bit tongue-in-cheek. Not that the singers we support aren't lovely, but this is not about ogling "hotness":

You're welcome to post your appreciation for each other's singers, but do so with the above two points in mind:

If you're in any doubt that your singer would find it creepy that you're taking or posting pics of her... don't. (The one I recently shared is from her public website).

If I may allow a peek behind the TB curtain, there is a running debate among the staff as to whether this thread should be allowed at all. If you would like it to remain open, take these points to heart. And no, that does not constitute permission to break the rule forbidding discussion of moderation decisions on public forums.

For the record, I share all of the pictures I take of the band(s) with the band(s) I play in. Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows it's all in good fun.

Me too. Whenever I've taken a pic or found a pic that is fitting for this thread, I've always told the muso of my intentions, they were always quite chuffed. (Not in a port chuff kind of way either)

The hypocracy of the renaming of this thread is palpable.
The sharing of photos of the beautiful, talented women with whom we share the stage is neither inappropriate nor creepy.
I support the rewording of the thread title if it makes certain members of this community feel less "guilty"
I do not feel guilty about admiring our female counterparts, nor should our female friends feel guilty of their enjoyment of seeing attractive man (or woman)
It's natural and good to find beauty in each other, even superficial beauty.

And why would renaming this thread be hypocritical? This and your assumptions of guilt by "certain members" as the reason to change it is obnoxious and condescending. Anytime a picture of someone besides you is shared, the people in that pic should give their consent knowing the context in which it is posted. Grow up dude.

Changing the title does not change the content.
It only changes the appearance to allow certain individuals to feel more comfortable about ogling women.
So change it. It makes no substantive difference.

Again - your opinion. A more open, unoffensive-to-anyone title can signal an awareness of intent, that being celebrating our front-women/singers in a respectable way.

There have been several discussions among moderators regarding this thread for some time, with the intention of not shutting it down, but some want to keep it as a "hot babe" thread, which still is against the rules, and the community spirit of TalkBass.

A moderator or admin will start a new thread soon with a new title, when one of us is available to watch over it (meaning, I don't want to start one and wake up to posts that either continue to objectify women or complain about moderation.

If anyone has read TBird1958's previous posts in this thread and still doesn't understand why it was closed, feel free to write me. TBird has been trying to keep this open; I'm the one that closed it. If you just don't want to follow the rule...I'm sorry, but please don't post in the new thread. Thanks.
