none. the one at GC had a little, but this one is a little heavier, so maybe that got rid of the neck dive.
I'm a fan of the Grolsch gaskets as straplocks (not to mention the free beer with the purchase of every straplock
). They didn't fit as easily on the "mushroom" strap buttons of my Ibanez AFB200 so I swapped the strap buttons for Fender style buttons.

As for strap locks, I use a Perri's Lock strap, easy to use and cheap, plus they come in some nice designs. Here's a link for you:

how long have you been using them? there are zero reviews of them anywhere i looked, but i like the idea. are they pretty sturdy?
i was going to get regular dunlop dual strap locks, but after checking them on several of my husband's guitars, they stick out a ways, and he acknowledged that they can change the balance, which i really don't want.
These work great, and they really hold strong. You need 2 hands to get 'em on or off, I like that. They don't stick out more than a regular thick leather ended strap in my experience. They are always at any Guitar Center, at least in NYC, with a lot of different styles. This ones my current favorite:

well, i returned the bass, and for those who are interested in it, i'll tell you why.
my second reason came from a back-and-forth email conversation i had with ibanez. they told me that oil - including skin oil - will cause the finish to discolor, and also told me that having an arm against the bass can cause the finish to become shiny (the bass is matte) where your arm is regularly in contact. it also at a guess is easily scratched - my husband said it's a tung oil finish. not sure where he read that, but while i rarely to never damage my basses, i found the idea of playing regularly on a bass with such a fragile finish daunting. i do have skin oil, i do sweat, and i play some of my basses quite a lot.
the first reason was that it was a lot heavier than the first one i played, probably close to a pound, and it hurts to stand and play while the round lower bout hurts to play sitting down.
i have never returned a bass except for issues with it, and i feel bummed. that being said, sam ash hollywood took it back with no questions asked - just like they said on their site.
but my quest for a 34" scale bass i can play comfortably contines. now i'm torn between two basses - what else is new. one is a steinberger spirit, the other is a semi hollow body so it's light. having shoulder issues and wanting a 34" scale bass requires experimentation...

Nice, light bass with a unique, woody tone. I had the chance to play one at Sam Ash about 2 months ago. It's a nice bass.i ordered a bass yesterday that i had never heard of two weeks ago, but i'm pretty darn excited!
its full name is the Ibanez Limited Edition 30th Anniversary SR30TH4 Electric Bass Guitar, and i noticed it hanging on the wall at guitar center while i was there to try another bass. it kept catching my eye with its quirky three holes and really nice figured mahogany with a brown burst over it.
and turns out it had the pickups and bridge from the SR500 - i used to own one and really liked it, but it was too heavy for my shoulders. the SR30TH4 is the lightest 34" scale bass i've ever tried or even heard of (the one at GC was significantly lighter than the mikros they had, so noticeably lighter than 6 pounds) no doubt due to its chambered body.
i've always liked the SR necks, i had a blast playing it using one of my couch guitar straps. i played it and played it through several amps, tweaking the settings - there's a lot on this bass to work with.
i'm quite excited, and can't wait for it to arrive on friday
I wanted to buy this bass with the Nordstrand pickups a while back. They did have two versions, one with Nordstrands & the MK1 Bartolini's in the other.
When I started checking up, the one I could find the data on specified the weight at 8 lbs., which would have been no different than my current SR1800E.
(checking just now I found one with the Bartolini's at under 6-1/4 lbs., DOH!)
Now I'm wishing I had tried the one they had at Sam Ash, even though it had the Bartolini pickups. At least I'd have had an idea of how light they are.
So @pcake, are you now happy with the GSR100EX models since returning the 30th Anniversary bass?
Mine is on the way (in the UPS truck). I'll give it a looking over as soon as it arrives & see if it's a keeper or a returner.
BTW, the finish on my SR1800E has worn a bit where my fingers are while playing.
For a long time I could buff it out with some furniture cream, but eventually that no longer did any good. It's an odd-locking spot that is shiny (on a satin poly finish).
AFAIK the anniversary models also had the satin poly finish.

mixed answer to this.
had the finish been more robust, i might have kept the 30th anniversary bass. it was really nice, although the SRH500 i replaced it with is nice, too - and maybe better tonewise.
my first GSR100EX has the mahogany oil finish. it has an issue that doesn't bother me at all but might bother you - the sides of the frets are... bizarre. instead of trimming them and filing them smooth, someone bent down and hammered a couple where the frets hang out over the neck into the side of the neck! luckily it's only on the side of the neck facing up when i play - had it been the side facing down, i'd have had to exchange it. otherwise it's a nice bass, and i find it comfortable when playing while sitting.
my second GSR100EX doesn't have any issues at all. its black gloss finish sure is purty and it has perfect fretwork, ridiculously better than the mahogany oil finish one.
hopefully you'll get one with frets like my second one.
The anniversary edition might be just what I want, if I could just find those with the Nordstrand pickups again.

i felt there was a hint more boominess to this bass due to the hollow body. the stock pickups are the same barts that i had in my older SR500 - very nice, but bass heavy. wish i could have heard it with nordy pickups - probably amazing!
Hmm, the Nordstrand version seems quite different. Those holes are very shallow, as if it's a faux hollow-body:

The version in the photo has the Titanium reinforcements in the neck, but I can't find any information to confirm if the Bartolini verion had that.
The bridge is different as well, the Nordstrand one having the Mono-Rail saddles.

The seller tells me that one in the photo is 8 lbs., so the two versions of SR30TH4 are wildly different.

could it be the light that makes it appear shallower? the one i had was pretty much hollow. i did try the more expensive version, but in a room where i couldn't make out how it sounded at all. it felt similar bodywise but i wasn't really A/Bing them, so there could have been slight differences in body depth.

and so unexpectedly, too. i was at our closest GC,it was hanging there - it didn't look great to me, but it did look different. but it sounded amazing, smooth and not like any other bass i've played. and as a bonus, it only weighs 6.4 pounds.
