I didn't even know I liked dubstep

Dubstep was a microgenre that was created about a dozen years ago or so. This new stuff is a dumbed down and distorted version designed for mass consumption, commonly known as "brostep."
No, no, no, we don't say that. I asked a rather simple question that is very much similar to your phrasing, and it exploded into a 10 page argument saying that I'm an elitist, self-interested musical fan who just wants things to be complicated whether or not it's popular. All because I questioned if it was good for music. I much like this brostep you speak of.

Well it depends some older stuff is better, but then I am sick of it.But I like a lot of good dirty dark wobble, not the fluffy puffy squeaky stuff, but hey it is good on the dance floor.
and then some new stuff is awesome, but yet its to much whistle and female vocals with the new skrillex style of techno bullcrap.
but then some of it is good.
some of the older well knowns as far as producers

Datsik
Downlink
Excision
Vaski
Bar 9
Hurley
Rusko

old stuff that first got me into it was Datsik Invalid Link Removed and Cookie Monsters Ginger Pubes
and of course Flux Pavilion Bass Cannon

is it really that bad? I like the cranked style of bass with that glitch drumming aspect of music. gives it energy. I feel like a lot of artists these days are like just willing to let the music "coast" which is nice.......but there's just a lack of swing in it.

Dubstep is the child of two-step. Honestly, they sound very little alike with exception to their beats. That said, anyone who doesn't like dubstep but still enjoys electronica might enjoy two-step. I know I like it a lot more.
