Slightly outside the box but I very much reckomend something from the Danelectro range. I really like my MIK Longhorn, light, balances well on a strap, really good neck etc.
The only drawbacks (IMHO) are that it does not balance that well when I sit down (but it might for a heavyset person?) and that speaks with slightly less authority than a regular J or P.

Trouble is, it was caused by medication that I was on years ago. I didn't have a choice, it was either take them and get fat or possibly not see my 25th birthday
