Right now, in some dark corner of the internet where guitards gather to crow about their awesome, "faster-than-Yngwie" solos, and show off their 80s inspired, shoulder length hair cuts in an orgy of hairspray-fume fueled narcissism, a guitard is posting about how his "idiot bass player doesn't understand his place".

And it makes me happy. Nice job

Good for you! I can barely play, so I'm certainly not in a band, but my fiancee is. 3 guys, great guys, great friends...bass, guitar, drums. I love hearing them play...they joke, they insult each other, but they also encourage each other. Guess I'm pretty naive, especially for someone my age, but it seems to me that if you're a band, the members should encourage each other to try all sorts of things. Guess I'm pretty much a "Pollyana", but the way I see, each band member is important...isn't it all the different instruments that make up a band? Enough, I'll bore y'all to death. I think all members are important...but...bass players rule!! (especially mine!)

Well considering my big move to cali coming up in the next year or so, I might take you up on that. hahaha.

+1 million. I'm the non-violent type but why do so many guitarists think that they know what makes a bassist? Granted there are plenty that do it just seems that the ones who have no idea are the loudest.

I'm usually a non violent type as well unless provoked, and thats a good question. I chose bass originally to AVOID guitarists shenanigans.

I'm not normally one for violence, but I'm assuming he's had it coming for a while...

Yeah it's been coming for a few years now. He avoids me in fear of me hitting him again. While its funny, I'm having a hard time finding someone to replace him for gigs in his absence lol I don't see an apology from me anywhere in sight though.

Although I wish he would have swung back or at least done SOMETHING, hes a girly man in the sense that even if someone stole his girlfriend, slapped his mother and kicked him in the nads he would just take it. I sort of felt bad for hitting him, but than I thought of all the times he has told me how to play MY instrument.
