I had a dream

That Phil Collins asked me to be his touring bassist.

The weird thing is I said yes.
The weirder thing is we didn't have any practices
The weirdest thing was I sounded awful/faked the basslines
The weirder weirdest thing was the tour manager asked me if I could stick with the tour because I sounded great.

I think I'm stressed about getting offers to join so many bands/balancing too much musically with everything else.

I had a dream where Kevin Garnett joined the dark side and fought three Darth Vader's. Not even going to attempt to explain that one.

The dream before that was me getting my hand bitten by a Great White. And for some reason I found it funny. I think that one seriously is about this cover band I just joined. The shark represents the suckiness of the 80's and that is what I'm afraid it'll turn into. The lead guitarist already has the 80's guitar chop box and mullet. We are one Steve Perry from being Wheel in the Sky, the best Journey tribute band in the Pacific Northwest.

There must be stress in my bass playing life too. My bass dreams are I'm on stage with a great band and there's a huge audience, and I don't know the song we're playing. It's a weird feeling cuz I just know I won't know any of the songs we're going to play.

The other dream is we're playing on top of this big mountain, and the audience is far far away in a valley. I've got this huge amp, but the speakers are really cheap and I know no one will hear me and the band will be mad at me. Very frustrating dreams.

But, at real gigs, everything goes ok.

Chester Thompson says that he couldn't carry Phils jock on drums, yet he's played with genesis and Phil for a hundred years.....LMAO

Matt you may not think you are good enough, but through your dream, it shows that you still have aspirations. Keep practicing. You never know what might fall in your lap. It's not always how good you are, but how competent you can be.

BTW....it was a dream.....the mind works in funny ways....LMAO
