Funny i see this now. I just swore off most business with ebay. business I will do it buying from merchants, no more selling, no more private transactions.
I sell a guitar, its damaged in transit. I immediatly get neg feedback and the guy emails me asking why I broke his guitar?? Then he tells me he is calling fed-ex to make sure they dont pay out on a claim... WHAT?
So anyways this guy is angry he got a broken guitar that needed a new neck but wont accept insurance on it.
My newest gripe. Paypal is "clearing" payments now. So I paid for a new Agile 2000 and paypal pulled the money out of my account, but it still take 7 days to clear. Good for paypal, cause they get to collect interest on my payment for a week, then when the seller goes to withdraw it, they get to collect another 3-4 days interest on it. Meanwhile, I could snail mail a MO to Kurt and get my guitar sooner, and he would get his money sooner, and 3% wouldnt be lost in the process.
If you like ebay, do me a favor, find me a customer support telephone number (there isnt one). I think I've mentioned it here before. If/When you have a problem your on your own, because ebay will not have anything to do with it. 7 years ago when I started on ebay, I actually got a call from an ebay staff asking about a transaction, long gone are those days, real people cost too much money and get in the way of profit.
My business goes to music123 or musiciansfriend now, evil yes, but I can get on the phone and figure out whats going on. In this era of electronic connections, I want to be able to talk with a person that much more.
