I hate my life at this point in time.

I know how you feel, especially with the car.

A few months back I put about £300 into repairs for my car. Two weeks later it gets bumped by a white van... not much aesthetic damage, just the hubcap on the front right tyre smashed, the bumper got ripped out a bit and the front right headlight was shattered. Drove it home with A LOT of wonky steering.

The final diagnosis? The impact buckled the steering column and the suspension for that side of the car. It would've cost more to repair it than to buy a new car :bawl:

And I thought I had a bad day. That sucks man. I feel you on the work thing. I just found out today that the full-time slot my job was going to hold for me for the summer has been given away to someone else because they couldn't wait two ******* weeks for me to finish up school. I'm on paid vacation for those two weeks and wouldn't be available anyway, and there are people available to work the extra hours in the meantime, but they still pulled some schmuck off the street to take my job. I've been there for years, I'm pretty miffed. Now I'll be working part-time (8 hrs/week) at that job, and the job I had lined up as a backup is gone as well.

If anyone has any magical ideas of how I can pull ~$6,000 out of my a$$ by september to pay my tuition, I'm all ears.

Man I feel that one. I put $1500 into a car a couple years ago, and about a week later the parking brake failed and it rolled down a parking ramp.

Smashed itself to bits. I saw the whole thing.

I feel for you. Alot of times when i'm in a funk or going through some rough patches, instead of wallowing in it, i would go donate blood. You're doing something good for someone probably worse off than you. Please don't think i'm diminishing your situation, but maybe you'll feel a little better.

OP, you did not mention any health problems. That is a huge blessing by itself. Since you or not doing a day job, this might be a great time to really increase your gigs.;) If you start making money, you have the absolute best reason of all to invest more money in gear!:bassist:

At least the weather can't get much worse (Im in Rocky Ridge).

That sucks about your car! Calgary drivers are beyond crap! I watched somebody drive over my neighbours front lawn trying to turn around yesterday. :scowl: (you were at crowfoot guitarworks weren't you)

If I see someone driving around trailing someone elses bumper I will lay a pounding on them for you :p

And hey, if you need to get a loan for your car at least interest rates are really freakin low right now. :D

I feel for you DRN-PWNS. Keep your eyes and ears open. They say at times like these, when one door closes, another opens. This could be a time of unique opportunity for you if you're open to it. I'm also a believer in really feeling what you feel--through music. That why we have the blues! Find some blues and see if any of it speaks to you. A few hours wallowing in the blues with SRV and Double Trouble--having Tommy Shannon play his heart out backing Stevie Ray Vaughn might soothe the pain. Works for me anyway.

yeah if you see any one dragging arround a red mr2 bumper you know what to do.

dude you gotta post that on fmylife.com ...that's a brutal story.. (also reading some might make you feel better)

I've honestly never had that bad of a day but close a couple times. The only thing I can say is that life goes on and however crappy it happens to be it's our own choice to be happy or not. and if nothing really picks up for a while... you can think... at least I'm happy, I have my {bass playing, favorite book, morning walks, ability to sleep in}

You didn't need to buy a new Wii. Nintendo does repair work, and if it was covered by warranty, it might have been free. Even if you had to pay, it would still have been cheaper than a whole new console.

Video games just mess with kids' minds anyway.

warrenty was done.
and they couldnt have fixd it
Cheap plastic + 5+ foot drop onto hard wood floor = nothing left.
the oterh thing is my sister has autism which is kinda very very harsh. She would have cried for days if she had found out that i broke it. she may have even stopped going to school.
