i hate the bridge on fender jazz basses

My fave were the old Ibanez Blazer bridges that were brass and like the Fenders on steroids. Very heavy and solid, way more tone and sustain.

I like the Badass with the pregrooved saddles, can't remember if I have the II or III on my MIJ Jazz, slightly tight fit in the screw holes, but now it's stuck in there real snug, and it sounds SO much better.

The saddle set screws are a simple, effective way to adjust the bridge. If yours tend to lose adjustment, put a drop of clear nail polish or blue color Loctite on the threads. Problem solved..at least until you can find a suitable (to you) replacement.

Plus on the loctite. Make sure you DONT USE THE RED COLOR. Loctite comes in different strengths.

i'm not very happy with my stock Jazz bridge either.

in standard tuning it works great, no complaints. but i tune down a full step (DGCF), so in order to intonate properly my F-string saddle is so far towards the neck that the tension spring is no longer needed. it just kinda sits there and makes a lot of noise when i play unplugged. the saddle is being held by the tension of the F-string.

this is an easy fix and not even that big of a problem, I just haven't go around to it yet.
