i hate the bridge on fender jazz basses

the standard Fender bridge are flimsy and the saddles tended to drift like from left to right some times and it changed the action on me alot. i need alternatives then that POS one that comes standerd on it any ideas?...i looked at BAII but i think they are out of business rigth? if they are what happend to them

They don't have the slotted saddles, but you can get a tech to do it for you.

yeah when i play close to the bridge my saddles move and throw the bass out of tune i think the gotoh 201 is a reasonably good upgrade

I haven't been keeping up with any of the discussions on BadAss II bridges getting hard to find and such lately, but I just checked the website and what they say is contrary to your statement.

Gotoh and Hipshot are both ones I like. I agree that the standard Fender bridges are pretty minimal. I really like the ones on the new American standard's. If you can get a hold of one of those, they are nice.

The saddle set screws are a simple, effective way to adjust the bridge. If yours tend to lose adjustment, put a drop of clear nail polish or blue color Loctite on the threads. Problem solved..at least until you can find a suitable (to you) replacement.

Gotoh 201 fan here. Have them on both my Squier VM's.

I can recommend the Gotoh 201 or the 203. The 203 will retain some of the "proper" Fender look but the plate is much heavier and there are slots for the saddle screws to keep them from shifting. See -

Also, there is an aftermarket bridge that looks just like the Gotoh 201, but a few dollars cheaper in terms of price.

Also, you might want to check out Hipshot and Schaller too.

I have the stock threaded saddle bridge like the one shown, and I have no problems whatsoever with it.
