Rubicon - San Francisco Bay Area band including former members of Sly & the Family Stone, Jerry Martini and Dennis Marcellino, former member of Pacific Gas & Electric, Max Haskett, future members of Night Ranger, Brad Gillis (guitar) & Jack Blades (bass) and future Robert Cray keyboardist Jimmy Pugh.

Jack Blades does a slap and pop bass solo on this song. This music is a far departure from what he and Brad Gillis did in Night Ranger.

I Have Found Peace Within "The Funk"

Being a child from the 60's and 70's I was born within this obscure genre called "Funk".

Unfortunately with the great grooves of "Rock and Roll" ,"Jazz" and other great music at the time, I moved on through the 80's and 90' subconsciously into other genres ......leaving my true love of this great music behind.

I am here now to tell you all my "Bassist Brothers and Sisters (and yes, other musicians to)" I have been "Reborn"!! ....And need you to join me in the ways of "Funkyness" .......please show us all the "Funk" that is inside us all.

Of course, I will start this off with a little something by "Kool and the Gang"......whatcha got??

Never seen so many pimps on one stage jamming it out! lol.

I'm with you. My dad loved funk and it transferred to me. Kinda funny, my dad is white, from a small redneck town in Texas amd would be dressed like a cowboy jamming to James Brown and is nothing like the rednecks from those days. In the early 80s he took me to see Kool and the Gang and the Commodores at Houston Livestock show and Rodeo. I must have been something to see in my cowboy hat and boots jamming to them live. I still love those bands.
