I have some recording issues

hey guys,

me and my brother have recently got into recording are original songs together.

my problem is when i use a mic on my amp it gets the tone and sound i want with the correct volume...but the walls shake and are some how picked up in the recording.

and when i use my DI i get to loud, im afraid if i turn down to much i wont get my desired sound.

can anyone who has more recording experience than me help.

Can you put the amp up on something to stop the walls from shaking? Maybe put it in a closet with lots of clothing and running the cables out from under the door?

umm well the closest closet is to far away but there is a very small room that holds are refrigerator. the room is less that 5x5 feet.

Make sure it's actually the walls that are rattling, rather than pictures hanging, furniture sitting on a wood floor, etc. As far as the DI, if you want to use it then you may need a pad.

well there are alot of pictures on the wall that probobly have somthing to do with it but its also the walls.

Don't you think it's worth a try to take the pictures down just to make sure? Everything in your wall should be fairly well attached and not rattling. Otherwise you'll have to go with emagdnim's suggestion.
