I have a 77/78 Jazz bass that I was considering selling I asked about it here in this thread. I was going to get an American Standard P5 and $1000 for it from a buddy of mine.. I was mainly going to sell it because I really need the cash.. and I don't play it much.. I primarily play a 5 now.. I had it set up.. and I called the guy to make arrangements to pick it up today... (nothing has changed hands yet..) last night I played it.. supposedly for the last time.. and .. I just couldn't do it.. I could not let it go. I had my original receipt from Alex Music in N.Y.C. for $460.. with the case.... I fiddled around with it a few times.. but it had some issues.. that's why I had to get it repaired.. but I haven't really played it in at least 5 years... Last night I was really able to appreciate how much my playing has improved over the past 5 years.. and I fell in love with that bass all over again.. but I feel kind of bad for backing out of the deal... Is that silly?
That was my first bass.. and I thought of all the stuff that life has happened to me in my life since I got that bass... It has been around for so long... I guess I'm just sentimental...........
