I just got my braces off!

Hooray for ******** pics!

By the way, do I really have to wear my retainer as much as they say? I can understand the first month having to wear it a lot, and I can even understand wearing it at night, but they honestly expect me to wear it for a few nights a week for the rest of my life? I'm sorry, but I was unaware I was getting into a lifetime commitment when I signed up for this. Definitely was not in the contract.

I have to wear mine every night and I got mine off two years ago. There's a guy in my english class who barely wore his retainer and had to get his braces put back on. This is not to scare you, but if I were you I'd wear it at LEAST at night.

Horsecrap.

Been out of braces for 14 years. Stopped using the retainer after 1 year. I thpeak dutht fine.

Yeah. All my friends say they quit wearing it after like a month or lost it within a week or something like that. And they have purty teeth! I figure I'll just keep it by my bed after I wear it for awhile and every once in a while when I think of it I'll see if it still fits.

On another note, what about those stains where the enamel got worn away from incorrect dental hygiene? I know they're permanent, but are they always going to be this... vibrant? Or do they kind of dull down after awhile?

...There are also permanent retainers, which go on the other side of your teeth and stay in all the time. (You can get them removed, it's like braces)

That defeats the whole purpose! Lol. I don't care if they crook up a little. It might make them fit with each other a little better. They're strait now, but I can definitely feel that they weren't "meant" to be strait. They don't lock in, and I wouldn't mind a little lockage. Make sense to you? Me either.

I never wore my retainer. Only for the 7 nights before I had a sceduled orthodentist apporinment.

I actually have those on my six bottom/front teeth because I didn't wear my retainer prior to an appointment once.

you dont need to wear your retainer ass much as they say, I've not even touched mine inabout a year now (I have no idea where it's gone...)

tbh though, the reason i stopped wearing it was because i was wearing it about every couple of weeks or so overnight for one day, and after a while it just became painful to put it in. so your teeth do move, but not as drastically as they tell you.

hooray for having braces off :D :D :D :D
