The BTB QM 400 had Ibanez pickups while the BTB QM 450 had Barts I believe .

Thanks Jammin. I didn't realize there were 2 versions of the QM series. Now I'm curious how much difference the Barts make over the stock Ibanez p'ups. Honestly, I think my BTB sounds fantastic with the stockers, but the Barts are intriguing. Are the preamps the same between the 400 and 450 QM basses?

Bassmonkey, that is a beauty of a bass!

Bassmonkey and Phadreus those are both gorgeous looking basses , very cool .

Bassdaddy like most things in the world of art , (and music is definately an artform) peoples opinions are subjective ( everyone has thier personal preferances ) . I have read online people who love the Ibanez pickups over the Barts and did not like the Barts , and people who love the Barts over the Ibanez's and did not like the Ibanez's. I've read that the Barts are darker sounding and the Ibanez's are brighter. It's really just a matter of what sound you prefer, its a personal choice .

I do not know about the pre-amps , so I can not comment on them .
