Tomorrow I’m taking my homemade monster to its first gig.

Arguably the first "Standing V" bass on record.

The whole place was just such a mind-blowing experience. Absolutely one of my top favorite museums on the planet. I am pretty sure I only saw about 3/4 of the whole thing.

For the record, I came dangerously close to reaching out and playing this one:

I am very lucky to live just a couple hours away... they rotate a lot of it pretty frequently so I really should make it out there more often than I do (about once or twice a year).

I really had trouble figuring out how they decided which were to be played and which were not... they are all original instruments.

Love my Bass Banjo. Sounds uprightish, not banjoish. I play it at school with my jazz kids and at church once in a while on acoustic or bluegrassy sets...
