I know you guys have seen this.....

On a serious-ish note; if the epoxy neck varnish was so essential, why does it look like it's been sanded off from the back of the neck?

Also, I wonder whether the price is a typo? Why $133,000 rather than $130,000? Both are ridiculous I know but the extra $3000 doesn't make sense to me. It might be of interest to someone at $13,000 perhaps?
The $3000 is for the original hard shell case.

This is not jacos bass. I'm sure many of us have seen this ridiculous ebay post. How do you suppose he came up with this price????? Troll.

JACO PASTORIUS SIGNATURE FRETLESS JAZZ BASS #025 C-HISTORY INFO C-PHOTOS (C.O.A) | eBay

I was involved in this project from inception - Lots of misinformation within the ad. I commented on this original post (see #41.)

I agree that the price is absolutely beyond ridiculous. I do remember when The Bass Centre initially started selling these and they didn't last long. I get that it's a very limited run and honestly I have never seen another one listed ever. Authentic paperwork & documents, case, original box make a strong case for it to be way up there with the unicorns of the Fender Custom shop instruments I suppose. The only other instrument I could possibly compare this to would be the first run Fender CS SRV number 1 Stratocasters which go for mind boggling prices. Personally, I think this seller is overreaching by at least $100k.
Nice memory!
Here's a video of one that made its way to England:

Is it one of a kind or one of 100?
Our intent was to have 100 produced, but there were never more than 50, tops (maybe as few as 35-40.)

I own 001 of this series.
In case someone is interested, the asking price is $99,999.
What a bargain, LOL.

Such a lovely bass...and score!

I can’t imagine them selling for anywhere near the asking price.
Nah, whoever owns it is out of their tree. That bass has been heavily modified as well. The original models (as pictured in the post above) were never roasted, relic'd or ridiculous. I like what FCS did with the relic'd models which were created several years later, however, they did not offer relic'ing when these basses were produced.

Did the roadie get paid for his signature? Or is that still coming?
The signature was provided by Jaco's Estate (his attorneys.) As I recall, I believe we had three to choose from and what you see on the plate is the one we chose.
