I love chocolate ice cream, it doesn't suck!

In tribute to another "this bass player sucks or doesn't suck" thread I got sapped into I propose this-

I love chocolate ice cream, it doesn't suck! How could anyone say vanilla or mint chocolate chip is better? Chocolate ice cream does just what it needs to do, no more no less. It's a great supporting member and contributes to condiments like nuts and marshmallows not to mention it is the foundation for such classics as Rocky Road or my favorite New York Super Fudge Chunk!

:hiding:

I watched Ken Burn's documentary on the history of Chocolate and was complete amazed at the omission of Milk Chocolate. I later heard that Wynton said that milk chocolate is not really chocolate. It's like they think chocolate stops after 1887.

Chocolate ice cream is fine, like just playing roots is fine, but it's a little boring sometimes, isn't it? Whereas mint chocolate chip does all that as well as adding its own flair to the mix. ;)

And I don't know about metal, but the best ice cream for jam bands would be Cherry Garcia or Phish Phood. :bassist:

I just don't get this groupie fascination with choco. I have tried it several times over the last 35 years and it has always seemed obscure, unpenetrable and overrated. I realize choco changed the art of ice cream making forever but other flavors taste better (at least to my sense of taste) and have had more impact on ice cream over the years, Blue Bell Cookies and Cream, for example. Now there is real ice cream. You choco lovers should expand your experience and not belittle the newer, fusion ice creams.

And another thing. Choco is probably the highest sellin flavor but just because it makes a lot of money doesn't mean it is good. It is just commercialized better with lots of marketing by the "machine." "Have a cigar now."
Chocolate is selling because of what it is, it's just doing it's thing and people dig it. It can't help that it's popular that's not what it was shooting for it was just trying to be itself..... it's not like that silly Spumoni; is it chocolate? is it cherry? is it pistachio? Spumoni is just trying so hard to be everything to everybody and market itself as a palate cleanser after a rich Italian meal.... please...

And don't even get me started on that sellout soft serve...
