I tried a Music Man Cutlass without the intention of buying it. I fell in love with it quickly in the music store and bought it.

It's a really great P bass. It's got tone that 'punches through' in just the right way and the action is quite fine.

I fell in love with it in the store. It was a "love" purchase rather than an "I'm in the mood for a new bass" purchase. It sounded really good in the store and when I took it to practice the next day I knew that it was the "real deal". I'm never quite sure how good a bass sounds until I use it to lock in with a drummer.
