I love the bass

Just wanted to post some love for this instrument, and know everyone here feels the same way. I started on guitar in my 40s (about 5 years ago). I really enjoy guitar, but never quite felt 'connected'. I always found myself thinking more in terms of melody and percussive rhythm. Since I'm left-handed, I've always struggled with serious rhythm strumming, and always felt most comfortable using a thumb pick and playing rockabilly.

Last year some coworkers and I were asked to form a band and play at our company Christmas party. No one played bass, so I bought a Fernandes cheap to play bass for it. I immediately felt connected to it in a way that I didn't feel with guitar.

Immediately after the show I looked on CL and found some local guitar players starting a band and in need of a bassist. I haven't looked back, and have sold all but one guitar. I am enjoying it SO much, and can't wait to get home from work everyday to play.

That's all, just felt the need to share.
