I miss my Ampegs.

agost: check my profile.

Dang, man! StingRay much?!? ;)

I feel for you, though (but not too much after looking at your gear list LOL). My SVT 2 Pro has been in storage in FL since last Summer. When I scored my V4 a couple of months ago, it totally renewed my love for Ampeg Tubeness.

Now I just need to find the right deal on an old B15...

:D

Im not complaining, ive been lucky to taste very nice gear, and im starting to peel off some of it, including a Stingray or two....im not deprived, just nostalgic. Ampeg was the first good amp setup I ever bought, and I played almost nothing but for years. Then I decided to branch out a little and now I just miss it a little.

I play an SVT II pro, fully rack mounted with effect drawers and stuff, but I consider moving on as I ordered a TC RH750 a couple of days ago, since the weight bothers me more and more. But I will keep the Ampeg, that's for sure. I'll see what I can get out of the RH750 and I'm wondering if it will serve me as truly and loyal as the SVT II.

It won't. It will do a good digital imitation of an SVT, and lord knows I've used similar stuff onstage and thought I liked it, but the difference is glaringly obvious and any fool who knows even a little about music can hear the difference. I can't do the imitations anymore. I'm fortunate I can scale down to a B-15 instead of an SVT ;) but the reason it's heavy is because it's worth it. Sorry, don't mean to bum you out...the TC will work fine...TOP just played in Orlando and Rocco used one. But I've given up on emulation because it's just plain not as good. Might use emulation for dirt because I can't turn up a tube amp that loud, even a B-15, but I'm even not happy about that as much as I used to be.
