I miss my Hartke 1155 combo

I am just sitting here, getting nostalgic over my old Hartke combo. It was the first new amp I ever bought and it served me well. The aluminum speaker was killed off by a two-year-old nephew of my old guitarist when he got into the basement and poked a bunch of holes in the cone through the grille with a toothpick. I dragged the thing around for years before pulling out the head and donating the cab to charity.

Still have mine I bought used in '93. It sat in the basement for 14 years while I took a "break" from playing. Dug it out back in January and still works great. I did recently remove the head from the cab and put it in a 2-space Gator rack bag just to make it easier for me to move it around. Head is 25 lbs, cab is 55.
The old 3500 MOSFET head is a beast, and the speaker cab is good too. I am getting a slight rattle from the 15 though, need to check the mounting screws.
I just bought a Genz Benz Focus 115 cab which is 46 lbs, but I will keep the Hartke cab until it dies.

Sometimes I miss my old 1155 combo too. That thing was way better than I would have thought.

This is what my cab eventually looked like. I also had a matching 2 x 10" cab fished out of a dumpster that turned it into a cool looking stack. The 2 x 10 was in terrible shape, having filled with water at one point. It made a good stand, though.

Wow. I had never heard of anyone else who had one of these. I had one for a while before I switched to Eden. I sold it to a friend who lets us practice in his garage, so I still get to play it now and then. Great combo.

Considering the price, the sound and the volume, I am surprised that these weren't played by everybody at some point.

A story about mine - sometime after I bought it (used) I noticed the 5" driver wasn't working. I called Hartke looking to buy another one - and they sent me one for free, no questions asked! And this was an amp I bought used which was well out of warranty.

The 1155 replaced my old rig, a GK 400RB head with a Peavy 1810. The Hartke was lighter and sounds better.

This is why I love Hartke so much, even if I am not using them so much right now. There is a really clean looking 1155 combo on the Oklahoma City CL right now for $350 that I would buy right now if it was local.

Crazy.... I just saw this threed. I can't tell you how much I love my 1155. I got mine on Ebay in 2007 for $80. It was just listed as "bass amp". The HF driver was blown and I replaced it. Since it was so cheap I modified it to put two wheels and a retracting handle. I've played many many gigs with the and and always get complements on the tone. Now I'm trying to upgrade my rig, so I order new HyDrive 410 and 115 cabs. I got them and IMO the tone was nowhere close to the 1155. I liked the low end but thought they were lacking clarity and punch. So I sent them back and got a 410XL and 115XL. I'm in process put putting the 5" HF drivers in and hope that it give me similar sound to the 1155. I'm also adding the popout wheels like the HyDrive cabs had. Anyway, except for it's weight the 1155 is/was a great amp!

Resurrection time...
I had one of these years ago, maybe 20?
I picked up an 1155 cab the other day with just the 15 in it, and am looking for a 3500 MOSFET head and a 5" compression driver for it. I haven't even looked to see if the crossover is still there... I don't even recall what the system is.
I do remember it was a great sound. And it's big enough to do most all my gigs and small enough to carry around easily.
Probably the best combo I've ever heard, except maybe for the SWR Bassic Black stack I also used to have... But they are quite different, so that would be a tough call. But I'm looking forward to getting this put back together.

I got one of these I am looking to sell asap. I live on the west coast and will be in southern nj to clear it out of my folks place. the original speaker was replaced with a non-aluminum one years ago. I love this amp but it'd probably cost too much to ship.
