I need a compressor!!!

Hi all,

Any recommendation on what compressor should I buy? I need it specifically for my DOD FX25, which sounds TOO LOUD.

Should I consider buying a Limiter instead a compressor?

Please help!

Why not just continue the DOD signal with one of their old bass comps? GC has a couple used for $30. Hard to go wrong for so little. But I've got a thing for old DODs so maybe I'm a little biased?

Hahaha, maybe, but... whatever. Actually, I'm considering buying the DOD compressor. I'm from Chile, and the market is very limited in terms of variety. The DOD compressor is cheap and there's a couple of them on eBay. Thanks!

Nope. I actually had to look up what an envelope filter does, and I'm still not exactly sure what that's for. I'm not big on effects.

Always trust @bongomania. My top picks ==> If you need something cheap, the best pedals in my opinion are the DOD Milk Box, Boss LMB-3, and Line 6 Constrictor, pretty much in that order. If you want something a little better than those, but still not expensive, the Seymour Duncan Studio Bass and Vice Grip, Pigtronix Philosopher's Rock and Phil. Bass, Budda Chakra, and Carl Martin Classic Opto provide a lot of bang for your money.

From what you describe, seems like the Boss would be what you need, it's also probably the easiest to get in Chile?

Ah, the FX25 sounds amazing but she can be a difficult mistress.

The Boss LMB3 is probably your best bet. Also look up the brand Dedalo, from South America.

+1 What bongo says. Haven't tried the Dedalo but ran the LMB3 with with the FX25 and it helped. If I still had a FX25 I might try it with a blend pedal.
