I need a new Head for an Avatar cab

I am new to pro gear but I need to get soon a head and a cab.

Thank you all that replied to my previous posting. I went from ignorant to entry-level.

Reading all previous posts on Avatar, I decided on buying the B210.

But I dont know which one is recommended:
- Carpet, tolex or heavy duty?
- 4 ohms or 8 ohms (I am only getting 1 in the meantime)

I also need to get a head to match this cab that is below $400 USD.

Please help me out.

Chances are if you think you'll want two cabs, you should get an 8 ohm cab. Two 8 ohm cabs in parallel is a 4 ohm load, for many amps this is the lowest safe impedance. A 2x10 may typically not be adequate by itself, depending on volume and style you want to play. Most people here would recommend a 300-400 watt minimum.

i would say try the used market. and see what you can drudge up for the price you want to spend. the hartke 2000 head was great for the price. i dont like the cabs but the head sounded pretty good. if you can get the 3000 model that would be awesome.

if you can score a poweramp for around 250 that gives you like 250 ish to spend on a pre amp that might be a little over your price range. i got a plx1202 and rbi with rack case for 500 on ebay.
