I need a small amps with balls!!

Amen on the VT pedal in front of a MarkBass combo. Another front end solution, ibit a $970 one ;)

I just got a Fender Bassman TV 10 Duo and it is a 350 watt "Middle Weight" but a very interesting tweed vintage option with a Fender Tube Pre and passive tone stack. It is is really great but the no cabinet option had me a bit worried.

I tried the Bassman line out into the MarkBass 210 Combo XLR in. DAMN!!!! Attack and tone was dead on! Sounded identical to the fender.

So I have a Portable 45 lb Solid State Wonder, A 53 lb ( I weighed it... seems heavier though) Vintage Tubey Amp and can mix it all up for a massive rig. It's awesome running a Mesa 15" extension cab out of the Markbass as well and now I'm in heaven with a 950 Watt (my MB 2x10 says 600 watts... really) 4x10, 1x15 beast. :)

For practicing at home my Micro Cube is the bomb though... it's got a drummer built in ;)

Ampeg micro vr with matching 2x10 cab. I find myself reccommending it over and over. It weighs about 40 lbs all told and it cranks. 200 watts, and it will blow a lot of others out of the water. Go to a store and try one, the sound proves more than I can.

Pretty tough to beat that little Genz Benz combo for size/weight/quality.
I don’t see a price range and some of these suggestions are pretty expensive.
A less expensive combo would be a Carvin BX250 head on an Avatar SB112 NEO (4 ohms).
I know for a fact this combo rocks.

Quote,"I'm really pleased with the Roland Cube 100 I just snagged on the cheap. I've used it for a few rehearsals and a couple gigs with my band, the Inactivists."

I also have a Roland Cube 100. It's very versatile, has great output options, but in my experience it just doesn't have enough output...by itself. Add a good external cabinet or do what I do...line out into a 12 inch powered PA speaker, and it rocks. But by itself, it's no match for the new class of amps on the market.
