I need help picking a bass

I have a Stiletto 5 string. For $800 or so its worth saving up for. You want that snappy tone? It exists in the Stiletto. I mess around with trying some double thumbs and pops between songs @ my practice pad and it definitely gets people's attention. I do play with a pick though as I try to learn fingerstyle. Still sounds good and you can use your pick as kind of a hook to get a pop now and then.

Thanks everyone.
A side note -- I live in the middle of nowhere in North Dakota, so the chances of me driving 10 minutes to the nearest guitar shop is 0%.

The nearest music store (which has the crappiest inventory ever) is about 160 miles away.

So I am really going to have to decide and then order online and see if I like it. If not, I guess the only option is to return it. That's the main reason I want to use Guitar Center/Musicians Friend, Sweetwater, or similar companies.

Also, I added an extra detail in the OP.

A lefty in the middle of nowhere - now I really sympathize. I haven't looked at the big stores used stuff, but I did go to the GC website and I noticed that they have a Valentine's Day offer. $150 off a bass over $749, which brings the Ray34 just over $600 new. If they've got a "no likey - send back for a refund" watertight policy, I'd be tempted to experiment there first.

If I did get this:

Would I have to endure the pain of hearing single-coil hum?
I really hate that... and it'd annoy my sound engineer too.

Both vols up is hum-cancelling, and I tend to play mine most often this way. Humbucking replacement units can be bought. GC's "VDAY" offer of $150 off over $749 has been replaced with a 15% off. This is bad news for their Ray34, but better news for that Jazz ($90 off instead of the VDAY $70). The G+L Tribute is worth a think if you're not holding out for a P.

Invalid Link Removed is available as a lefty.
I hear some good things with the Schecter Model-T which is a P/J configuration. I honestly think that you will be best served by having a precision pick up to match the sound you're looking for. If it were me I'd either save up for a used Fender left handed precision, Try to find a Model T, or get a Ray34. While I know the ray is not a precision set up, it does match a little closer than a jazz in my opinion.
