I need help with alerts

Whitelist means all forums included within a search, blacklist means all forums excluded from within a search. It’s just easier way to organize things depending on how you want to search for things.

For example, if I want alerts for every forum except for Off Topic for the word “Ampeg,” it would be easiest to just mark Off Topic as a blacklist item. On the other end, an example of one of my whitelist alerts is I want alerts anytime someone uses the word “fee” or “friend” in a Classified ad, so I mark only the Classified subforums as whitelist items rather than blacklisting the much larger amount of forums that are not Classified subforums.

So that's how you get so many of those. I just figured you sit at your computer pressing refresh 24/7. :D

The two aren’t mutually exclusive....;)

I also get an alert for the word “gift.” Prior to keyword alerts I would just have to search the Classifieds twice a day for any of those words. That’s nothing compared to when I used to have to manually enforce the 24 hour bump rule as the system couldn’t do it…
