I need help

I play a lot of I am looking to get a new bass, right now I have a schecter c-4 diamond series bass, it plays great and all but it doesn't have the right sound, and it's a super soft wood and I'm afraid I'm gonna but a huge ding in it when ever I play it, which is like everyday. I'm just about sold on getting a fender (i used to HATE them with a passion), but I don't know which would be best for the types of music I play. Mainly our band covers Paramore, All Time Low, Panic at the Disco, and other bands like Mayday Parade. It's all punky/rockyish, and I don't know if the p bass, j bass, or p/j special bass is best for that. If you have any others you'd like to tell me about then go for it....I just have to spend less then like 1,000ish.....

Ps. anybody know how much i could sell me schecter for, its really pretty, and there are only 3 scuffs, none of which affect playability, and you can't see them unless you sit there and stare at 'em..

thanks other bass extremists! :bassist:;):)
