I'm thinking you are a little "rough" with your equipment. All basses will break under certain conditions.

My choice for potentiometers would be CTS, they've been a standard for decades:

Of course, you'll need to match the values/type that is in your instrument

And for a jack, the old standard is Switchcraft on most instruments:

But I'd also trust Rean/Neutrik:

If you need capacitors for the tone circuit, see what value is in your bass now and reproduce those as well.

Easy as pie, and who doesn't love pie.

If you're new to soldering or aren't feeling confident with your skills, have someone do it for you or see a professional with your parts in hand. Check the work after the fact to make sure it's clean sturdy and sound.

I will say that it did cross my mind. Loose pots, or jack, being careless or abusive to an instrument can do much to advance failures.

Those bass kits contain all the "industry standard" parts to upgrade the electronics in various basses. They include CTS pots, (Long lasting quality), Switchcraft jacks (don't lose tension like imports and get "static") and Orange drop tone cap (not any better than any other high quality cap, but at least you are sure it IS high quality). My personal choice would be teflon wire rather than the standard poly wire, but that is just a final tweak.

So instead of spelling out the best parts, he just pointed you to to kits that contain them all.

Please.

Get your basses to a repair shop (whatever it takes to get em there) and use some of the money you've saved to rescue them.

If you still want a new (used) bass, sell what you have and get it.

If that bass develops issues, get it fixed also.
