I need the lowdown on the Trace Elliot AH1200SM

I have a manual for the AH600SM that covers most of the amp.
The only thing different that one needs to know for the 1200 is that it's:

2 separate 600 watt rms amps. Each with it's own set of outputs - 1/4" and XLR.

It's minimum load is 2 ohms for each channel not 4 ohms as the AH600SM is.

So, you can run two 4ohm cabs or four 8ohm cabs on each channel. which includes 4 of the 1088 cab:hyper:

Bump because I can and because you are still subscribed to the thread.

Let's see... Just on TB...
Tom Bowlus has one, For Sale....
I have one,
Aragorn35016 has one,
Joe Black Has one.
brain21 still has one i think...

That's 5 of the 10 the TE tech I spoke with in 2000 told me were made special for a band in the UK....
10 made makes this a very rare amp.
I wonder how many still exist.

Selta used to have one.
TSanders used to have one, he sold it to Selta.
natrab used to have one....

I heard that Doug Wimbish had one. That would be really cool to know which one. That would give that particular amp more value.
Knowing what band these were originally made for would be cool, too.

I believe I have one of the 10. Bought it about 5 years ago and would love to find out what it is worth and any information I can on it. The amp is sick and I will never part with it. Any information would be great.

I bought mine in 2009-2010. I found it on the web site MyGear if I remember correctly. Paid $650 + shipping.

The last year or so I was looking for any information I could find on the amp. Mostly found only a few forum threads but nothing more. I would love to get my hands on a manual for the amp but from the sounds of it the amp is a very rare Trace Elliot with no published manuals from Trace.

I have to say that this is hands down the best amp I have owned.

You can use the gp7sm manual for most of its operations.
It has two 600 watt rms amps. One for each channel output.
Each channel will run down to 2 ohm each for a total of 1200 watts RMS and 2400 watts peak.
you can use either channel, both channels, or none if you wanna run just the preamp out to a power amp or board via the effects loops.
So yeah it will run eight 8 ohm cabs like the 1088 for 64 10" drivers!

I've been using one of these for quite awhile, didn't know it was so rare? Great amp I don't think I would part with it... I was powering a 4x10 cab on one channel and a 2x15 cab on the other... I did notice that the serial # on the back was hand written?

I am selling mine. Had this puppy since 2006 I believe. Bought from my sound guy back in the day in Indiana. Anyone know where I can find the specs? 2400 watt peak.

This thing will not die. I've lost track how many gigs this thing has had to endure.
1200 watts rms total.
2400 watts peak total.
2x 600 watt amps inside.
outputs A and B are 600/1200 at 2 ohm minimum load each.
yes, 2 ohm. you can run four 8 ohm cabs on each output channel.

Only about 10 were made.
Special order from a certain British band. I know where 7 are...
