Because now our OP needs that supply and will buy one. What could it possibly do that requires 400 mA, and why, in a world where center neg is the standard, are companies still building pedals like this?
I could buy into that if it didn't come with the proper wall wart alreadyBecause now our OP needs that supply and will buy one.
So now the company will make money.
Your board is too busy. I play not even plugged in as a minimalist. Great tone! For starters your pedalboard has too much stuff.
Here's mine... Less is more

I bought mine used, so it didn't have the power supply. But I'll be ordering one soon. I went through all the options for making it work, and it's definitely just needing more power. Hope that'll all work soon enough!
Whoops...missed the part where he said he'll be needing to order one.I could buy into that if it didn't come with the proper wall wart alreadyBut if it breaks or he loses it...
Looks like you were right about that after allBecause now our OP needs that supply and will buy one.

Isolated power supply?I have certain pedals that just won't work correctly unless I use their own dedicated power supply (Tech21 Bass Boost Chorus). A pain when you are trying to power your board with a brick, but I haven't found a better solution.

Anyway, stuff like your WTDI wanting special power requirements and reversed power plugs in today's world really bugs me. There are a million preamps out there that don't require 400 mA and center positive. What could it possibly do that requires 400 mA, and why, in a world where center neg is the standard, are companies still building pedals like this?
No, I mean an isolated PS for all your pedals like the Voodoo Lab or Iso Brick should work.Exactly
Ya, I never got the "reducing signal noise" thing. Everything you plug into has signal noise if it's turned on. And in the context of a band, it all gets drowned out anyway once you start playing. I've had a few preamp pedals and very low noise can be accomplished very well with 9v.Eden takes the line that 15v significantly reduces signal noise.
Which I believe, to be frank: I've run a WTDI since they were introduced, quite often going straight into PA in some pretty electronically noisy rooms, and it's always been totally silent.
It was only when I started putting a proper pedalboard together that I even realised what a problem electronic noise could be - and that was with pedals from Boss and TRex (good brands!).
But I agree that Eden has slightly shot itself in the foot. It wasn't such a problem when Eden only made a single pedal, the WTDI, but now that they offer a whole range, and if they are totally committed to the 15v thing, they should really have thought of offering their own power supply, not just individual plugs.
I have the Eden WTDI and the Glowplug tube warmer (a pretty popular combination around here), and found the perfect power supply is the Palmer PWT-12 mk 2. It offers 8 9v outputs, along with 4 variable between 12-18v, pumping out 500mA each. It's been running great so far.
I wrote a thread on this, see:
Helpful thread: Power Supplies for unusual voltage requirements (15v, specifically)

No idea Jimmy why they did center negative. The 400mA might be because of all the stuff on it? It has the 3-stage EQ with a mid-range control that will toggle between 500Hz center and 2Khz center. Also has an enhance (frequency sweep) control, an adjustable compressor, and both a gain and a master control. Again, I don't know the specifics of what they need to run that, but they do provide the power supply with it.Always has to be one in every effects forum crowd.

Hey Jimmy, you're right about not worrying about noise in the context of a band. And even running a little noise into an FOH probably wouldn't produce much noticeable noise. However, in any recordings, that noise can be a BIG deal and Eden has always been known as having an absolutely silent DI on their amps.Ya, I never got the "reducing signal noise" thing. Good tip abut the Palmer, but I might suggest actually measuring the voltage with a meter just to be on the safe side.
