Um...no. if I'm cruising at a constant speed in the prius, no matter if its at 20 or 75, I'm getting about 50mpg, and average roughly 47 mpg overall. Not that it gives me the right to litter, but it does keep me away from the gas station, which I appriciate.
. . .what the op fails to realize is that most people who drive a prius only want people to think they're enviromentally aware and are really self important twats. . .
what cracks me up about the prius, is once they are going over 30 MPH, they get the same gas mileage as any other 4 banger...
and a lot of times, you see people hauling ass in them on the freeway, gunning it to pass you etc..
no better gas mileage there at all...
Cigarette butts arent exactly enviromentally friendly
More people drive cars than smoke cigarettes.
One car puts much more pollution into the air than one cigarette.
Drivers are worse than smokers.

Actually, most gas is consumed under higher load conditions, i.e. accelerating. The electric portion of the car recaptures energy from slowing the car down, that would typically be wasted in the form of heat and noise from the brakes, and reuses it to accelerate the car from a stop. That's why hybrids typically have better gas mileage under the City portion of City / Highway.
People driving them recklessly, that's on them. But the technology is sound.
I drive a truck, just to be clear.

Fascinating. I wonder when you found the time to conduct this massive survey.what the op fails to realize is that most people who drive a prius only want people to think they're enviromentally aware and are really self important twats.
Not all smokers are litterbugs... I put finished butts back in my pack ...

Fascinating. I wonder when you found the time to conduct this massive survey.
Well if you add up all the cigarrettes someone smokes in a lifetime....
eh, didn't take long, but the numbers are heavily skewed by all the celebrity owners.
Generalize and attack. What a great form of logic. If I lived in LA I would for sure drive a hybrid, so I could drive in the car pool lane with only one person. There are tons of reasons to buy a prius. My wife thinks it's cute. I think it's cheap. Don't try to put me in a box just because some people are jackasses.

hey without generalization we wouldn't have stereotypes.. and then where would we be?
