I sure thought this was Leon Sylvers!

I know PDbass should be in another section, but this talks about a few things that relevant here. First it turns out that Midnight Star’s bassist, Kenneth Gant, played on this track. At the time, Leon Sylvers was working with Midnight Star. When I listened to the song today, it struck me that in some parts, Gant is slapping and Leon Sylvers plucked, but never slapped with his thumb, also the tone is definitely not his Rickenbacker.

There were a good handful of basslines that Leon didn't play on by his own admission. His brothers and Kevin Spencer played on a lot of those records. Foster was pretty damn good.

I think I told you before, but I saw the Sylvers on tour and Leon, Ricky, and Foster, had a bass feature where they played School Days and they sounded great!
