By plugging the power supply for my dl4 into it. What gives? The dl4 supply says 9v on it! Is it like center positive or something weird like that?

I think the DL4 supply is actually an AC supply. For reasons I don't fully understand, it will accept some DC supplies although Line6 recommends against it.
Any odors from the Milk Box?
Most pedals have a resistor or capacitor to protect the circuit from that kind of overload. It may be repairable.

Even if it's under warranty, they'll know... whether it be center-opposite, AC, or an attempt at repair... if you're out of warranty, it's not going to hurt to take a look under the hood... of course, without power, whether it's working or not...
