Playing at a jam.

When I started, I was happily dragged to jams. For bluegrassers, that was it. Bands were for playing modern covers at a dance. I just fell into fertile ground. I learned to find the key, and the chords as the tune progressed. The tunes were meant to be "jammed." But that simple start really was great for the eventuality of getting in a band. (Been there. Done that.) Festivals and jams are still my thing, even if there's no money to be made.
