I’ll stay in my music program!!!!!!!
After talking with my friend I realized I love the bass more than I was fronting and I allowed for he odds to hold me back.

Before next semester(which I hope is in person) I need to clean up my playing if I do want to be competitive. I happen to so far be one of the only bassist in my school’s music program(in terms of it being a full time bassist). I want to of course work on timing cuz even though I have played in band situations and killed it with my groove and rhythm I have gotten rusty since I haven’t been performing as much lately. I’ll provide a list of things I need help on to simplify things.

1. Timing(you can never be too good at it)
2. Having improved confidence in what to play to avoid shyness or just getting lost.
3. I can read bass clef but just need help not over complicating it.



Final one but I got this one. Gear doesn’t make a bassist but I need a bass that I can feel confident and comfortable playing. I’m comfortable with a Jazz neck so I’ll be looking into a nice player or standard jazz, don’t need to kill my bank account.

I will be sticking with my music program and fixing my bass playing. I’ll be working on my timing, groove, songwriting, sight reading and finally getting a bass I’m comfortable in my hands.

Whatever you get, I suggest getting a pro setup done so not only will the neck be comfortable, the action along with the strings will be too.

Now it's time to overcome your technical issues. Work on your right hand. You need to create precise muscle memory for playing without a pick. A regular daily practice of 30 to 45 minutes will bring you forward. Ask a classical musician of whatever instrument how to create exercices. They are good in it. And one day of the week is bass free. Have a nice summer!

I recommand that you give the SireV7 a try when you get a chance, it has great craftmanship and a beautiful neck, really a great bass for it's price. And down the road you can always upgrade the Pick ups to give the bass more punch. Ofc it might be a different bass for you that does the magic , but still, I recommand you try one out if you have a chance it's a good jazz bass with a great price attatched to it.
