Well, Brad, enjoy my reponses while they last. Because soon I will be leaving for MY weekend gigs, and though I am sure they are not as lucrative and impressive as your gigs are, I will be busy all weekend playing gigs out in the desert, and then playing an orchestra concert the next day. Meaning, I won't be able to contribute to this thread anymore for awhile, fun though it has been. Gotta go make money!

Likewise, I probably would not bring a Fodera to a biker bar gig.

But maybe this makes sense: If someone hired me to do a recording session, and I owned a Fodera, A MIA fender, and a squire...I highly doubt It would be the Squire I showed up with.

Park your Rolls outside a biker bar, and then go inside and play crazy-music on a Fodera!!

Then, just to top it off, smash the fodera over the hood of the rolls!!

Stop arguing, you're right, expensive basses are stupid.
Now everyone stop buying them and get cheap basses, this would cause the cheap bass market to go up in price because they would be so desirable also causing lack of boutique sales, which will cause the boutique market to bottom out. Maybe then I could get a Fodera for under $2000.

Well, SX basses ARE $11 and play better than Fedoras.

Every fedora (I've owned 5) that I've ever owned has had electronics issues. Every. Single. One. Not only is the jack IMPOSSIBLE to find, but I can't even get them to make noise through my amp. I don't understand why everyone raves about these things. Musically, it's about as useless as a hat.

Squiers rule! Seriously though, a friend of mine dropped a Sad pre in his and had some fretwork done and the thing is just INCREDIBLE at around $600 total. If I didn't have a custom on the way, you bet I'd be doing just what he did.

Maybe not. In my last studio visit for a demo the producer and engineer prefered the tone of my Hofner Icon Club to the studio's Pedulla and mid '60s Jazz we tried.
