Since it's so hard to find a great single coil, unless you like Squiers, I'd go for a Vintera myself. Gotra have reverse tuners.

What he said!also: consider building your own "custom" from the parts you like from the sources you prefer. if you're not a tinkerer yourself: hire a luthier/tech to assemble it for you. you'll spend less to get exactly what you want if you can settle for a fender-shaped-object. a "perfect" P-bass is the easiest EB on planet earth to just nail --- IME/IMO, don't overthink it!
