i want to upgrade YamahaRBX375

Hi, i've a Yamaha RBX375, is a good bass for the price its costs, but i don't like the pickups and electronics.
i want to replace the pickups with an active EMG pickups, and remove the onboard pre-amp.

is it a good idea? what' type of EMG pickups are the best coiche? (DC, CS, etc...)

anyone made this upgrade on the rbx375?

I don't think you can normally fit EMG pickups inside the RBX375, the ones I've compared don't seem an exact fit. I know Bartolini makes a model like that, but I forget what model it is, exactly.

Also, you might want to reconsider the preamp. From the few discussions about the RBX37x series, most people concluded the pre is the weakest link.

the EMG pickups fit perfectly into the "holes" of RBX375. (the EMG soapbar is little smaller in lenght, than the original yamaha, about 5mm in total (2.5mm for side) and the width is about the same)
i've excluded the bartolini pickups beacuse i don't lilke it, i'd prefer the EMG pickups..

the other choose is to mount passive EMG HZ, and use the original yamaha preamp, but i'd prefer to take off the preamp...
