I wouldn't go that far...there's plenty of funnier things.

We must not take ourselves so seriously that we can't laugh at ourselves. Family Guy, King Of The Hill, Metalocalypse all have lots of fun with stereotypes...and when their jokes are aimed at people like me, I laugh...because it's truly funny!

Self-deprecating humor is the sign of a true class act.

Off the topic: I saw your Dead End River page - nice Bongo -

Self depreciating humor is not what you engaged in.

Thanks for the compliment on the bass, it's my baby.

Say what? :^D What do you think other English speaking regions of the world think of regional American accents?? Backwoods southern, the Bronx, hillbilly, urban slang, some of those isolated island fishing communities off the east coast, etc. It's all relative to what your ear is familiar with.

And what you call a "bad" accent is just one that you personally have a hard time making out.

It is true though: there's an amazing diversity of accents and dialects over the relatively compact British Isles.

Not bad as in it's a sub-par accent, but rather bad as in I couldn't make it out, and I'm usually pretty good making out accents. Think of this scene in Hot Fuzz That's kinda what this interview was like lol.

And believe me, I'm well aware of what people think of Southern accents. Read through this thread, you'll see plainly, from people who live in the States even.

Sorry, could you post that again, please? I'm having trouble understanding your drawl. :p

Right -America has its fair share of hard-to-understand accents
