I bet everyone "wins" one of these for 28 shipped, and then they laugh all of the way to the bank.

Probably not even worth the cost of the shipping.:scowl:
Due to the inherent poor PSRR of a SE triode cct, and the likelihood that if the B+ had issues so did the direct heated filaments (AC?) I'm not surprised there was some effect. Which shelf you placed it on your equiptment rack probably made a difference. I have quite a bit of experience designing around DHT and DHP tubes (45, 47, 2A3, 300B, 211, 845, 813, GM70) and they pose a lot of design and construction challenges to get right, especially filaments. However, this is a lot different to a multistage SS poweramp, often with much better inherent PSRR and > 30dB of NFB. SET's invariably have none.I did record one instance where a fancy power cable resulted in 6dB lower noise floor than a standard IEC, but it was because the amplifier connected to it had a woefully bad power supply design. The amp in question was a high dollar single-ended 300B power amp. I couldn't repeat the result with any other piece of equipment.
I love BFM. He has X-ray vision that sees through the B.S.
Sorry Bro. I certainly do not mean to insult you. I just don't beleive in it that's all. If you hear a difference, I believe you.
I would also say that even with a very subtle difference in sound quality, wouldn't it be masked by all the associated factors such as room acoustics, ambient noise, other instuments etc.?
I can say for sure that at my age, my hearing doesn't pick up extremely minute differences in sound in a normal gigging environment. I'm sure many other's can.
The Placebo Effect is well known, and it works with everything from cables to that new pair of 'P.F. Flyers' sneakers that you were absolutely positive really did make you run faster and jump higher back when you were ten. The only way to discount the placebo effect is with double blind testing, where neither you nor the person administering the test are aware which cable is which as they are randomly switched. Double Blind Testing is the bane of existence for the cable mountebanks, who scurry away like cockroaches when the lights come on at the mere mention of the term.
Oh No, Mr. Bill!! Aquafina is a tad drier whereas Dasani has that sweet, nutty flavor. Very slight difference but discernible to the trained palate.![]()
Nah they save that for the $3000 version with the 'Magic Pixie Dust Thermobonded Cable Shrouds (tm)' They 'lift another veil between you and the music'.for 300 bucks you think they would have done a better job on the heat shrink
