I won! NBD Hammersmith!!

Nice score.
Once you get use to a 5 string the 4's will be a thing of the past. lol

I agree. Those Nordy Big Rigs should get you out of your 4 string rut in no time! (cripes! those pickups alone cost more than many of my basses!)
As you can see from my avatar to left I love to replace factory black or white plain pickguards with tort (That one is an SX), but while I'd love your bass in tort, I must admit I actually like the look of the black guard on that one too!

Y'all ever heard of Andy Irvine and his Daily Funk Club prize giveaway?

Well I have and I joined and I won. I got this sweet ass Hammersmith Bass today and a whole mess of other stuff is coming my way. Shout out to Marco at Hammersmith for the suppling this amazing bass for the drawing.

I'm not a 5 string guy but this one is making change my mind. I plays nice and smooth. Nice thin neck and it sounds fat and warm, dare I say even a little dark, Which I love!!

It's all passive with nordstrand Big rig pickups in it. It sounds like a jazz on steroids. Even with no preamp.

I would have taken more pics but I was to too busy playing it. Definitely recommend Hammersmith to anyone in the market for a great bass for not lot of money.

Awesome! Marko and I kinda "designed"/spec'd out that bass together with the intention of me possibly buying it "used" after NAMM. When the time came I didn't have the money, so off it went to Andy Irvine. Glad someone here got it.

What are your thoughts on the Big Rig pickups?

I like them a lot. Very responsive with an old school kinda tone. The bass is pretty nice. Now I just gotta try and get used to 5 string. I want to like it, my fingers and brain say otherwise. Lol.

Don't get discouraged, it took me a lot of practice to get comfortable on a 5. And then more practice to switch back and forth between a 4 and a 5. But you'll get there after a while. :)
