iAmp500 or Thunderfunk...help!

B String said:
It sounds like the TFunk is sort of like a Gk. Is that about
right? Would it lean more to the gk800 side, or the 1001?
Or am I completly wrong here?

"very ballsy and punchy, growly, with lots of character and a very clear tone".

Yep, that describes the 800RBs I've used. They're still different. Hard to describe...

maybe the TF has a more refined gregariousness:D

The preamp section is still super clean, the added head room has made a world of difference by the performance of the speaker's with the added power.

Now I'm going to bug AI for a slave amp in the same case as the focus so that you can run two 4 ohm cabs with each its own 600 watt amp section and use the one preamp section on the focus.......... what a killer rig!!!!!!!!

Guys -

Been listening to the TF and IAmp clips and I think they both sound really good, as do the Clarus clips to my ear. It seems the IAmp and Clarus share something in the low mids which tend to characterize their sound - just a bit of "boom", as Vanselus said. It's really subtle.

I think I will be happiest keeping my Clarus for upright -- I think its the best upright amp period, even taking WW into account -- and buying a Thunderfunk for my electric. The Thunderfunk is *really* sounding good to my ear, those clips seem to take the cake even over the Demeter to me. A little more life.

Thanks Vanselus! You're the man.
